Avalanche Risk

We run a comprehensive snow safety program to safely manage avalanche risk on our mountains. Patrol teams use a combination of active (explosives) and passive (closures) techniques to keep guests and staff safe inside the ski area boundary. When avalanche control work is taking place, please obey all signage, closures and instructions from staff.

Mountain Boundaries

Closed Areas and Safety Signage

Closed Areas may exist at any time on our mountains. This could be due to avalanche activity, avalanche control work, unsafe skiing/snowboarding conditions, an on-snow event, or snowmaking and grooming activities. Some Permanent Closed Areas such as water reservoirs and hazardous terrain also exist. We use signage to inform guests of safety information. Please obey all signage, closures and instructions from staff. Refer to our pass removal guidelines for more information on the consequences of breaking these closures.

Ski Area Boundary

We have signposted and fenced Ski Area Boundaries to separate safe, patrolled terrain from unpatrolled backcountry terrain. Refer to the trail maps to view the boundary line and check out the Backcountry Tab if you’re planning to venture outside the ski area boundary.
