At both Cardrona Alpine Resort and Treble Cone, we ensure transparency in our terms, covering lift passes, rentals, and accommodation policies. These Terms & Conditions provide essential details to enhance your experience. For any questions or concerns, please contact us at info@cardrona-treblecone.com. Our staff members across all departments are thoroughly trained to uphold our policies and provide consistent service in line with our standards.
Winter Terms & Conditions
Cardrona Alpine Resort and Treble Cone Ski Area are wholly owned subsidiaries of Real Group Limited. In these Terms and Conditions, the following words have the intended meanings:
“Cardrona” means Cardrona Alpine Resort, while “Treble Cone” or “TC” means Treble Cone Ski Area. Both ski areas are owned and operated by Cardrona Alpine Resorts Ltd and are referred to as “we”, “us”, “our”, “Cardrona resorts”, or “dual mountain”. “RealNZ” refers to Real Group Ltd, and “you” refers to the purchaser, holder or user of any Product or Service.
The name that will appear on your receipt will be Cardrona Alpine Resorts Ltd.
As a subsidiary of RealNZ, guest data may be shared interchangeably between Cardrona resorts, and RealNZ and communications may be received from either party.
The period of operation for the Cardrona 2025 winter season is nominally June 14 - October 5, 2025, and Treble Cone June 28 - September 28 , 2025. The period of operation for the Cardrona summer season is nominally December 14, 2024 - March 2, 2025. The duration of the seasons will be subject to snow, weather and market conditions and may vary from the above dates as a result. Cardrona Resorts offers no warranty in respect of the season-opening, duration of the season, operating days &/ or the number of lifts and facilities operating on any day or time.
All prices quoted on this website are in New Zealand dollars and are valid at the time of publication but subject to change without notice. Rates include GST.
Pass means an Electronic RFID pass and the products associated with it.
Products purchased are valid only for the season in which they are bought and will expire at the end of each winter and summer season.
“Force majeure” means the occurrence of events including but not limited to: COVID-19 or any other health epidemic or pandemic, natural or environmental disaster (including but not limited to floods, earthquake, or other adverse weather conditions), governmental actions, war or other unforeseeable circumstances beyond the control of the Parties against which it would have been unreasonable for the affected party to take precautions and which the affected party cannot avoid even by using its best efforts.
For the specific purposes of these Terms and Conditions, “COVID-19” and “force majeure” may be used interchangeably and are equally applicable for all instances/ examples of force majeure as described above.
Terms and Conditions are correct at the time of publication but may be subject to change.
For winter season passes, ages are taken as of June 1, 2025.
For dated lift passes, rental , and ski and snowboard school products, ages are taken on the date of travel.
Child = 6 – 17 years inclusive or currently attending school. Under 6 years of age, ski or ride for free. All lift users require a Cardrona/ Treble Cone Photographic ID.
Student = 18+ years enrolled full-time (minimum 32 weeks in a calendar year) with a New Zealand or Australian tertiary institution. Student ID & proof of full-time status (letter from institution) is required. ID card must be in English & include a valid expiry date. ISIC cards are not accepted.
Adult = 18 - 64 years of age. A photo ID may be required.
Senior = 65 – 74 years of age. A photo ID will be required.
On the day of purchase, if you are 75 years of age or older, you can ski for free. Please collect a complimentary lift pass from the ticket office. A photo ID will be required.
RealNZ may, from time to time, offer to provide its customers a facility for the purchase of a Cardrona Resorts pass on a "buy now pay later" (BNPL) basis. If you agree to purchase a Cardrona Resorts pass on a BNPL basis, you will be subject to the following additional provisions:
Deposit and regular payments: Under the BNPL arrangement, you are required to pay RealNZ: An up-front initial deposit of $100 on purchasing the Cardrona Resorts pass;
For purchases prior to January 1, 2025 a further 4 instalments payable on January 24, February 24, March 24 and April 24, 2025.
For purchases made after January 1, 2025, refer to the schedule below:

The amounts of the deposit and the amount and date of each instalment will be confirmed on check-out and will be automatically charged to your nominated credit or debit card on the dates specified in the payment schedule. Your agreement to pay for the Cardrona Resorts pass on a BNPL basis constitutes your express authority for RealNZ to charge the instalments to your nominated credit or debit card on those dates.
Activation of pass: Following payment in full of all instalments in accordance with the agreed payment schedule, RealNZ will activate your Cardrona Resorts pass. Your Cardrona Resorts pass will not be activated until you have paid the total amounts owing to Real NZ for that pass.
Late payment procedure: Where we have not been able to charge an instalment to your nominated credit or debit card in accordance with the agreed payment schedule (whether because of insufficient funds or otherwise), RealNZ will notify you by email that you are required to login to your Cardrona x Treble Cone account and update your credit card details. We will then attempt to recharge your instalment within 5 minutes of updating this credit card. If payment fails again, you will be notified by email. Re-attempts are processed for 5 consecutive days. If, after 5 days, your instalment is still not successful, your pass will be cancelled, and any deposits and successful instalments will be refunded. Please contact our Guest Services team for help with any issues with scheduled instalment payments for BNPL.
Interest: In relation to the BNPL arrangement, RealNZ charges no interest or any other establishment, administration, processing, monthly or weekly fee.
No limitation of rights: Nothing in these terms limits or restricts any rights you may have under New Zealand consumer protection legislation, including the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (where you are a “consumer”) and/ or the Fair Trading Act 1986.
Please note that we may contact you via email and SMS regarding your booking.
Purchasers of a Cardrona Resorts day, multi-day or season pass and/ or field users will be deemed to have accepted the following Terms & Conditions:
Carry your pass at all times. If a pass holder has forgotten their pass, a replacement card can be issued at the mountain Ticket Office. This pass now replaces the forgotten pass, which will become deactivated from that day forward.
A lost or stolen pass must be reported to Cardrona Resorts immediately. A replacement pass may be issued at the discretion of Cardrona Resorts.
A $10 fee will be charged for a replacement pass.
Passes remain the property of Cardrona Resorts.
Passes are non-transferable and may only be used by the person whose name & photograph are assigned to the pass. Fraudulent use of your pass will result in confiscation of the pass & prosecution of all parties involved.
We require a photo to be loaded against the profile assigned to your pass and Cardrona Resorts reserves the right to hot list your pass if no photo is loaded against the profile assigned to your pass.
Refund requests for 2025 ski bookings must be received no later than October 31st, 2025, by contacting info@cardrona-treblecone.com. Refund/ credit requests are not to be assumed, and any requests received after this date will be at the discretion of Cardrona Resorts and/ or RealNZ.
A blackout period applies to Saver Season Passes from Monday June 30 – Friday July 11, 2025 inclusive. Pass holders of Saver season passes will be unable to use the lifts during this period, unless by purchasing a valid day pass. Saver season pass is not valid at Treble Cone at any stage during the season.
Your pass cannot be used for commercial purposes without the consent of Cardrona Resorts.
The pass holder uses the resort at his/her own risk.
The pass holder assumes all risk of personal injury & property loss or damage.
Snow sports (including skiing and snowboarding), mountain biking, alpine hiking, Mountain Carting and utilising road access to alpine areas to undertake such activities are all potentially hazardous. In recognition of the inherent risks associated, you agree that you use and access the Cardrona and Treble Cone ski areas with the knowledge and appreciation of those risks. Whilst we have taken all practicable steps to, where possible, identify and mitigate hazards and obstacles within both ski areas (marked and unmarked, natural, and manmade) and road access to it, you accept the risk of personal injury and property loss or damage that may result from your use of this facility.
The pass holder agrees to the rules, regulations & directions as expressed or implied by Cardrona Resorts. All pass holders at Cardrona and Treble Cone must abide by the snow user’s responsibility code. This can be viewed on our Ski Patrol & Slope Safety page.
Misconduct, in the opinion of Cardrona/ Treble Cone management, may result in loss of pass without refund.
Misconduct includes, but is not limited to, reckless or dangerous behaviour while participating in on-mountain activities, excessive speed within a slow or learning zone, disregard for closed areas, unsociable or abusive behaviour, being under the influence of alcohol or drugs, supply of incorrect information or any other breach of the conditions of service.
All pass holders must abide by all signs and instructions when driving on ski area access roads. Failure to abide by signs and instructions or reckless and dangerous driving may result in cancellation or suspension of the pass with no refund.
Any breach of the Terms & Conditions relating to the use of the pass by the user may result in the withdrawal of the pass & all associated privileges.
Any person who uses or attempts to use the facilities at Cardrona Resorts without a valid & lawful pass & without reasonable excuse will be subject to:
Prosecution &/or
Requirement to purchase a valid window rate single day lift pass for that day &/or days &/or
A penalty of $1500 &/or a trespass notice preventing further access to the resort & all other ski areas in the Southern Lakes region for a period of 2 years.
If you are unable to use your Cardrona Resorts passes during the 2025 season refunds will be considered in extenuating circumstances. A doctor’s certificate may be requested to support refund requests based on medical grounds. Refund applications must be in writing with supporting documentation & sent to info@cardrona-treblecone.com. The basis of any partial refund will be determined by the usage of the pass using the refund calculator below:

All refunds are at the absolute discretion of Cardrona Resorts. Cardrona Resorts reserves the right to apply any processing charges for refund applications.
Cardrona Resorts preferred method of payment is via electronic means for contactless payments. Cardrona and Treble Cone mountains are cashless for Winter 25, and we reserve the right to refuse cash as a means of payment when purchasing products or services from the mountain ticket office, shop, workshop and cafe. Après Wanaka, our off-mountain office and restaurant, will still accept cash as a means of payment.
Due to NZ Civil Aviation laws and DOC regulations, Cardrona Resorts does not permit the use of drones anywhere within the ski area boundaries. Commercial film production must apply for special consent; please see our Functions & Events page for more information on the application process and legal requirements.
At Treble Cone, paragliders can take off along the Matukituki ridgeline but must not fly over nor land within the ski area boundary. If taking off outside the saddle area, they must be far enough along Towers Ridge to be past the Motatapu Chutes area.
Cardrona$ are redeemed on the basis that 1 Cardrona$ is equivalent to 1 NZ dollar.
Cardrona$ can be used to purchase products or as part of the payment for a product for sale at both Cardrona and Treble Cone locations.
Cardrona$ cannot be redeemed against a prior completed purchase.
Cardrona$ can only be redeemed upon presentation of a valid pass loaded with a current Cardrona$ value (by the person named on the card).
Cardrona$ can be redeemed by the named pass holder for the purchase of products for other pass holders. e.g. parent for a child.
If there is a dispute about the balance remaining on a pass, this must be raised immediately by contacting Cardrona at +64 3 443 8880 or by emailing info@cardrona-treblecone.com. No resolution will be available to the user regarding issues raised after the end of the season (winter or summer) during which the purchases are made. Cardrona$ are non-refundable & non-transferable.
If you’ve loaded both Individual & Family Cardrona$, your individual balance will be used first.
Cardrona$ are non-refundable & non-transferable.
Cardrona$ expires after 12 months of inactivity – if you haven’t spent or loaded any Cardrona$ on your pass in the last year.
Cardrona Apartments are still open and operational even when the lifts are closed, and we, therefore, do not refund or amend accommodation based on Cardrona Alpine Resort or Cardrona Bike Park resort closures.
Due to the location of the Cardrona Apartments, we experience Alpine weather, which affects lift operations and flights into Queenstown. It is a good idea, and we strongly recommend all guests take out suitable travel insurance in case of unforeseen circumstances.
Upon check-in, credit card details will be kept on file and charged for any damages or incidentals incurred during your stay.
This includes the repair of any damage to the Property, missing items belonging to the Property, excessive cleaning, rubbish removal and additional staff hours incurred as a result of your stay.
A minimum charge of $200 will be charged should excessive cleaning be required to return the room back to a rentable state.
Any late departures will incur a fee of $200 that will be charged to the credit card on file.
You may not accommodate more than the maximum number of occupants as stated in the accommodation booking. Reservations exceeding the base number of occupants are subject to the add guest rate of $85 up to the maximum, depending on unit type. We have a maximum occupancy per room to ensure your comfort and safety. We have the right to ask any persons exceeding this limit to vacate the apartment.
We pride ourselves on creating friendly, welcoming, and, above all, safe places for people of all ages to enjoy. Any breaches of our admission, behaviour or safety policies will be treated seriously and regarded as a breach of these terms and conditions and can incur a fee. Any behaviour deemed inappropriate by Cardrona may result in your removal from Cardrona Alpine Resort and your right to rebook into the Cardrona Apartments.
All refund requests must be received in writing and acknowledged.
To secure your accommodation, we require full payment at the time of booking.
If a booking is cancelled or modified 30 days or more prior to the arrival date, a minimum of $200 administration fee applies.
Any cancellations within 30 days of arrival are non-refundable.
If you have booked through a third party, please check with your travel agent/ booking site for their individual Cancellation Policy.
You are welcome to request specific rooms, but in the case of unforeseen circumstances, such as room damages or maintenance issues, amendments may be made.
We offer free parking at Cardrona but cannot take responsibility for any damages caused to the vehicle during your stay.
All rental products are date-specific and can be used within the following date windows:
Multi-day (2 Day): 2 of 3 days
Multi-day (3 Day): 3 of 5 days
Multi-day (4 Day): 4 of 7 days
Multi-day (5 Day): 5 of 8 days
Multi-day (6 Day): 6 of 9 days
Multi-day (7 day): 7 of 11 days
All equipment must be returned at the end of your rental agreement.
If equipment is unreturned or damaged, Cardrona/ Treble Cone will make contact to discuss any issues & may charge your credit card for any damaged or unreturned items.
A credit card number is required at the time of booking to secure all lessons and programmes.
A phone number that you will be contactable on during your visit is required at the time of booking.
All Snow Sports School bookings are unconfirmed until paid in full.
Unless otherwise stated, lessons and programmes do not include a lift pass or rental equipment.
Any rescheduling of lessons or programmes is available only if capacity allows.
Private lessons:
Private lesson bookings can be rescheduled or refunded at no charge with more than 24 hours notice.
There will be a 50% charge for private lesson bookings that are cancelled between 2 & 24 hours of the scheduled lesson start time.
There will be no refunds if the private lesson booking is cancelled less than 2 hours before the scheduled start time or in a “no show” situation.
An adaptive discount is only given for the production of a valid SSNZ Membership.
Group Lessons:
Group lessons and group lesson packages are mountain-specific and only valid for the mountain they are purchased for.
Full-day group lessons and lesson packages are dated and can be changed with more than 24 hours notice if capacity allows.
Refunds for group lessons will be considered under extenuating circumstances and when we are unable to reschedule your lesson due to capacity.
Lift passes and rentals are only included if group lessons are purchased as part of a package.
Multi-day group lessons are booked consecutively. If you need to change this, please email lessons@cardrona.com, and we will try to accommodate your request if capacity allows. If you would like to book more than three days, please email lessons@cardrona.com
In the rare circumstance where only one adult guest books into a group lesson, the lesson will run for the morning session only (10:30 am – 1:00 pm). This policy applies to adult lessons only; kids' group lessons will continue for the full day. If the adult guest wishes to continue for the full day, they can upgrade to include the afternoon session for a $90 upgrade fee.
Kids Programmes:
Ride Tribe/ Minis/ Academy – There is a cut-off for online bookings. After this date, all bookings must be directed to kids.programmes@cardrona-treblecone.com. Late bookings are subject to a Late Sign-Up Fee of $100 should capacity allow.
Where a Programme is purchased, and it is later identified that the participant is not at the required skiing/ riding ability, a transfer to the appropriate Programme/ Lesson may be available. If there is a difference in price, we will charge extra or refund based on the price when the original purchase was made.
If an appropriate Programme is not available, a refund will be provided. This is only available on day one of the Programme and must be raised with a programme coordinator on the same day.
In the case of an entire Programme or Programme Day(s) cancellation due to customer illness/injury, with an accompanying medical certificate, a refund will be provided (on a pro-rata basis where applicable).
No refunds will be given due to missed Programme days, except in the case of medical illness/ injury (see above).
Programme bookings can be cancelled or rescheduled with no charge with more than 48 hours notice.
For any programme bookings cancelled or rescheduled within 2 and 48 hours of the start time, a $50 admin fee will be charged.
No refund or reschedule is available within 2 hours of the programme's start time.
We endeavour to run all programmes at all times; however, if fewer than 3 participants are enrolled for a programme, the programme may be modified or cancelled, and a refund given.
Skiwees/ Lowriders – In the case of programme cancellation due to mountain closure, the programme may be extended to Friday. Skiwees/ Lowriders will not run into the weekend if multiple closed days happen. Refunds will be given for any/all relevant closed days at the end of the programme. 'Programmes' include all multi-day Programmes (e.g. Ride Tribe, Academy), School Programmes and Skiwees/Lowriders Programmes.
Ride Tribe/Minis/Academy – There is a cut-off for online bookings. After this date, all bookings must be directed to kids.programmes@cardrona-treblecone.com. Late bookings are subject to a Late Sign-Up Fee of $100 should capacity allow.
A credit card number is required at the time of booking to secure your lesson/ childcare.
A phone number that you will be contactable on during your holiday is required at the time of booking.
Bookings are not confirmed until paid in full.
Ski Kindy operates a waitlist for days when we have reached capacity. The waitlist does not guarantee a booking for your chosen day. If your chosen date is unavailable, contact skikindy.bookings@cardrona.com
Every child who attends Ski Kindy must complete an enrolment form. Personal information held on this form is shared with the Ministry of Education, which stores it securely and treats it in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020. Information is disclosed to the ministry for funding purposes, monitoring purposes, allowing the assignment of a National Student Number to your child, and allowing the Minister or Secretary of Education to exercise any of their other powers or responsibilities under the Education and Training Act 2020 and as permitted by Privacy Principles 10 and 11.
It is your responsibility to book your child into the correct age group. ID must be provided for every child with the enrolment form. If your child is found to be booked into the incorrect age group, your booking may be cancelled, and no refund will be given.
Bookings can be rescheduled or refunded at no charge with more than 48 hours notice. Bookings cancelled between 48 and 24 hours of the start date will be charged a $25 per day cancellation fee & the balance will be refunded.
There will be no refund if the booking is cancelled within 24 hours or in a ‘no show’ situation.
Bookings can be rescheduled in advance, subject to availability. There must be space available on the desired day.
The following information is provided to ensure that the Terms and Conditions we offer are clear and understood. In these Terms, we have used "we" or “us” to refer to the Treble Cone Freeride Team (TCFR) and Cardrona Parks Squad (CPS), including Academy. "You" refers to the person or family member who has purchased a CPS or TCFR programme. “Programme” is referring to any CPS or TCFR programme (including Academy).
Admission process:
Programmes can be purchased online via the Cardrona website.
We reserve the right to determine the suitability of each athlete and can recommend alternative programme options if necessary. This may include Snow Sports School programmes if appropriate.
Programs are subject to maximum numbers; to avoid disappointment, we recommend booking before the 1st of March 2025.
Fees:
A minimum 25% deposit is required at the time of programme booking. Your place on the programme is secured subject to your suitability and the terms as set out in this document when payment is received.
Full payment of programme fees must be made by 1st May 2025.
All prices quoted are in New Zealand dollars but may change without notice. Programme costs include GST.
Minimum Numbers:
We require a minimum of 4 athletes per coach for all programmes.
Placement in training is not guaranteed and is dependent on available space in an appropriate group.
We may be forced to cancel if we do not get the required minimum number of athletes for a particular programme option. In this case, we will contact you with alternative options or provide a refund.
Refund Policy:
If you cancel your programme before 31st March 2025, we will provide a full refund.
If you cancel your programme between 1st April 2025 and 30th April 2025, we will provide a full refund of the programme fee, less a 20% administration fee.
If you cancel your programme from 1st May 2025, no refund will be provided.
For long-term, season-ending injuries, a pro-rata credit of the programme fees will only be considered on medical grounds when supported by a doctor’s certificate.
If you are absent from a scheduled training session, there is no provision for any form of credit or refund. This may include but is not limited to, absence due to sickness, tiredness, injury or other commitments.
If the mountain is closed, we will offer an alternative plan for the session or a replacement session to be scheduled for later in the season at our discretion.
If the Programme Director calls the training session off due to weather or snow conditions within 2 hours of the scheduled start time, we will offer an alternative plan for the session or a replacement session to be scheduled for later in the season at our discretion.
There are no credits/refunds for unused transport.
We strongly suggest that athletes are insured to cover their programme fees against injury or sickness. We will not be liable for any expenses due to injury, illness, theft, travel, or loss of programme fees.
Liability:
Snow sports involve a particular element of risk and are therefore undertaken at your own risk. We accept no responsibility for any accidents, damage, loss, injury, sickness, death, cancellation, delay, or other unforeseen events that occur during the course of a training programme on or off snow.
We reserve the right to decline, cancel or withdraw any athlete without any refund or credit of programme fees. We expect athletes to conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times, as set out in the Athlete Code of Conduct (see below).
Equipment:
All athletes must wear a helmet at all times. This is compulsory across all programmes at Cardrona/ Treble Cone. Back protectors and mouthguards are also highly recommended for athletes. The coach has the right to refuse training to athletes who do not have the appropriate equipment.
Lift Lane Use:
Use of the Snow Sports School lift line is a PRIVILEGE for athletes and is available EXCLUSIVELY during training sessions ONLY. No friends, no “filmers”, no physios, no additional coaches, no helpers, no parents or relatives or anyone else without a Cardrona armband. Any misuse of this privilege will result in appropriate consequences, which coaches and management will determine.
By purchasing a CPS or TCFR (including Academy) programme, you will be deemed to have accepted the terms and conditions as set out in this document.

Fees:
Course fees are due 65 days prior to the official start date of any course or at the time of booking if inside of this. Your place in training is not confirmed & coaching will not commence until the registration form is complete & all fees are received.
ITC program components purchased individually or as part of the package are non-transferable and may only be used by the person whose name & photograph are assigned. Fraudulent use or on-selling will result in the cancellation of the program component & prosecution of all parties involved.
Refund policy*:
Upon written confirmation informing of cancellation from any course and/ or package (including illness, injury, change of mind, or change of circumstance before, during, or after the course has commenced), the following cancellation policy will apply:
More than 65 days prior to course commencement: 100% refund (less a $1000 administration fee).
Less than 65 days prior to course commencement: Non-refundable and non-transferable at any stage and for any reason except NZSIA/SBINZ exam fees only that can be refunded when fits within the NZSIA cancellation policy (must be notified to NZSIA more than 10 days prior to the course start date).
After course commencement: Non-refundable and non-transferable at any stage and for any reason, except exam fees that meet the NZSIA cancellation policy (must be notified to NZSIA more than 10 days prior to the course start date).
A comprehensive Travel Insurance Policy, which includes Cancellation Cover in excess of the course costs, plus illness/injury, delayed/lost baggage, etc., is therefore strongly required for all course participants. For New Zealanders, please look at comprehensive domestic travel insurance & ensure it covers snow sports.
*If not booked directly, then as per your agent's terms & conditions.
Minimum ability level:
If the ability level of the student is lower than the minimum standard required to participate in the programme, then an alternative option may be provided when possible, and any extra costs will be the responsibility of the participant (guest). The ability to remain with the group is at the discretion of the trainers and Instructor Training Centre Manager, and if the options offered are not deemed suitable by the trainee, there is no recourse as the fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Minimum numbers:
If we do not get the required minimum number of 4 trainees per group for a particular training option, we may not be able to run that training, or it may be scaled down in time due to a small number's private/ semi-private nature. In the event that we are forced to cancel a training programme, we will contact you with alternate options.
Unused training & other booked items:
No refund will be given for any unused training sessions or other booked items (whether package or otherwise) due to the trainee’s late arrival, illness, or injury. Make-up days are not able to be offered. In the case of resort closure due to weather conditions, mechanical failure, or any other reason outside of the control of ITC, we will attempt, but we do not guarantee, to reschedule the planned training. This training may be on or off snow and may be on the mountain or in Wanaka.
Liability:
Snow sports involve a particular element of risk & are undertaken at the individual's own risk. Cardrona Resorts, Instructor Training Centre (ITC) & its trainers are not responsible for any injury during a training programme, on or off snow.
Care and responsibility of any property belonging to Cardrona Alpine Resorts Ltd, its guests, and any external providers are expected (e.g. accommodation, lockers, other venues used for course purposes, etc.). For any damage, cleaning, repairs or otherwise, the responsibility remains that of the trainee. This includes any financial implications/repatriation.
Professionalism/ Privileges:
Adherence to the ITC Code of Conduct will be maintained. Failure to comply may result in disciplinary action including, but not limited to, loss of training &/or pass and any associated privileges.
Lift Lane Use:
Use of the Snow Sports School lift line is a privilege for ITC participants only (no friends/ family etc.) & is available exclusively during training sessions when with a trainer. Any misuse of this privilege will result in the privilege being revoked and could result in loss of lift pass.
Package Components:
Accommodation is limited, and the Instructor Training Centre Manager will make the final decision regarding bed allocations in collaboration with the accommodation provider. If the trainee is not happy with the room allocation, then they can approach the Accommodation or the Instructor Training Centre Manager who will attempt to re allocate where space allows.
If the trainee becomes unhappy with their room allocation after arrival, then again, they must approach the Accommodation or the Instructor Training Centre Manager who will attempt to re allocate where space allows. The bed/room remains non-refundable and non-transferable at any stage, including if the trainee is unable to re-allocate or chooses not to take any of the options provided.
Transport is non-transferable and non-refundable as per the refund policy above, including but not limited to any resort closed days.
The Instructor Training Centre and Cardrona Alpine Resorts Limited is not responsible if training facilities or other package components are not available in the event of acts of God and other unforeseen circumstances, including but not limited to weather events, mechanical breakdowns, electrical supply and/ or roading issues.
Lift pass use and transferability are as per the Lift Pass Terms & Conditions.
The following information is provided to ensure that the Terms & Conditions we offer are clear and understood. In these Terms, we have used "we" or “us” to refer to the Wānaka Ski Team (WST). "You" refers to the person or family member who has purchased a WST programme. “Programme” refers to any WST programme.
Admission process:
Each athlete is required to complete the admission form in full.
We may request an interview and will set this up individually with the athlete and/ or the guardians if required.
Admittance is based on the athlete's age, ability and experience. We reserve the right to determine the suitability of each athlete on a case-by-case basis.
Applications close on 31st January 2025. Any late applications will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
Admittance to the programme will be announced after 15th February 2025. Any applications received after this date will be determined at the earliest possible opportunity.
Fees:
Once an athlete has been accepted into the programme, a payment plan is available if started by 28th February 2025.
Full payment of programme fees must be made by 1st April 2025 unless a payment plan is in place.
An athlete's place in the programme is secured once payment has been made.
All prices quoted are in New Zealand dollars but may change without notice. Programme costs include GST.
Minimum Numbers:
We require a minimum of 4 athletes per coach for all programmes.
Placement in training is not guaranteed and is dependent on available space in an appropriate group.
We may be forced to cancel if we do not get the required minimum number of athletes for a particular programme option. In this case, we will contact you with alternative options or provide a refund.
Refund Policy:
If you cancel your programme before 31st March 2025, we will provide a full refund.
If you cancel your programme between 1st April 2025 and 30th April 2025, we will provide a full refund of the programme fee, less a 20% administration fee.
If you cancel your programme from 1st May 2025, no refund will be provided.
For long-term, season-ending injuries, a pro-rata credit of the programme fees will only be considered on medical grounds when supported by a doctor’s certificate.
If you are absent from a scheduled training session, there is no provision for any form of credit or refund. This may include but is not limited to, absence due to sickness, tiredness, injury or other commitments.
If the mountain is closed, we will offer an alternative plan for the session or a replacement session to be scheduled for later in the season at our discretion. We strongly suggest that athletes are insured to cover their programme fees against injury or sickness. We will not be liable for any expenses due to injury, illness, theft, travel, or loss of programme fees.
Liability:
Snow sports involve a particular element of risk and are therefore undertaken at your own risk. We accept no responsibility for any accidents, damage, loss, injury, sickness, death, cancellation, delay, or other unforeseen events that occur during the course of a training programme on or off snow.
We reserve the right to decline, cancel or withdraw any athlete without any refund or credit of programme fees. We expect athletes to conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times, as set out in the Athlete Code of Conduct (see below).
Equipment:
All athletes must wear a helmet at all times. This is compulsory across all programmes at Cardrona/ Treble Cone. Back protectors and mouthguards are also highly recommended for athletes. The coach has the right to refuse training to athletes who do not have the appropriate equipment.
FIS and U14/U16 athletes must ensure their helmet complies with FIS helmet regulations. U8/U10/U12 athletes must wear helmets designed explicitly for Alpine skiing in all disciplines.

Lift Lane Use:
Use of the Snow Sports School lift line is a PRIVILEGE for athletes and is available EXCLUSIVELY during training sessions ONLY. No friends, no “filmers”, no physios, no additional coaches, no helpers, no parents or relatives or anyone else without an HPC armband. Any misuse of this privilege will result in appropriate consequences, to be determined by coaches & management.
By purchasing a WST programme, you will be deemed to have accepted the terms and conditions as set out in this document.
Terms and Conditions are correct at the time of publication but may be subject to change.
Age:
Ages are taken as of the date of intended travel.
Adult: 18 years and over; Child: 2-17 years; Infant: Under 2 years old.
Children under 14 years old must travel with adult supervision.
Baby and toddler seats are not provided; however, they may be fitted if they are lap and shoulder belt-compatible. Parents are solely responsible for supplying and the correct fitting of these seats.
Wanaka and Queenstown Guest Transport to Cardrona Alpine Resort:
Please reconfirm your transport booking by 6 pm the day before travel to confirm pick-up details – you can do this by calling 0800 440 800.
The Queenstown and Wānaka Guest bus runs on a tight schedule with many pick-up points, so please be ready at your departure point at least 10 minutes prior to the scheduled pick-up time. In the event of a missed pick-up, please contact us at 0800 440 800. You can also call this number until 6 pm the night before your departure to reschedule your transport. Any amendments (including cancellations & refund requests) after this time will be at the discretion of Cardrona Resorts.
Return transport to Wānaka and Queenstown departs Cardrona at 4.15 pm. The return journey to Wānaka takes approximately an hour. The return journey to Queenstown takes approximately 1.5 hours.
If you need to pick up rental gear, lift passes &/or lesson tickets, we recommend visiting the Queenstown/ Wānaka store the day before you head up the mountain. It is generally quieter during the day than in the evening. Our team will ensure you have everything you need to head straight to the slopes when you arrive on the mountain.
In the event of a closed day, we will endeavour to reschedule your booking. Please check the snow report each morning for up-to-date information on the resorts including if we are open or closed.
Pine Trees Shuttle:
Cardrona Alpine Resorts cannot guarantee specific departure times for the Pine Tree Shuttle. Weather and road conditions can delay the bus.
Please be advised that shuttle times are subject to change.
The shuttle may suspend uphill transport if the service is deemed at capacity.
Cardrona Commercial Transport:

We cannot guarantee parking for commercial buses on the hill. Please let us know if you intend on bringing commercial buses onto the mountain so we are able to prepare for your arrival.
All buses coming onto the mountain should follow our Guide for Commercial transport.
Whenever a group is skiing or snowboarding at Cardrona or Treble Cone with a Coach, Trainer or Instructor, it will be considered a commercial coaching situation. Groups wishing to bring their own coaching team MUST make prior contact with the Head of Sport or the HPC Department Heads. It is at our sole discretion who will be permitted to coach on the Cardrona and Treble Cone Ski Areas.
Lost and found is kept at our Slopeside Guest Service office at Cardrona and our ticket window at Treble Cone. Lost property is stored for the below-outlined timeframes:
Valuable items from the previous week (phones, cameras, wallets, jewellery etc) are taken to Wānaka Police Station every Sunday afternoon.
All other items are kept on the mountain for 30 days, after which time they are donated to Wānaka’s local recycling centre.
We can assist with pick up for on-mountain, Wānaka or Queenstown. If you have left the area, in most circumstances, we can help organise shipping your item via courier at your own expense.

Cardrona Resorts preferred method of payment is via electronic means for contactless payments. Cardrona and Treble Cone mountains are cashless, and we reserve the right to refuse cash as a means of payment when purchasing products or services from the mountain ticket office, shop, workshop and café. Après Wanaka, our off-mountain office and restaurant, will still accept cash as a means of payment.
Any purchases made via credit card and payWave at any of our Cardrona x Treblecone office locations will incur a 1.5% surcharge. The surcharge is non-refundable.

Summer Terms & Conditions
Cardrona Alpine Resort is a wholly owned subsidiary of Real Group Limited. In these Terms and Conditions, the following words have the intended meanings:
“Cardrona” means Cardrona Alpine Resort Ltd.
Cardrona is a New Zealand-owned company. The name that will appear on your receipt will be Cardrona Alpine Resort.
The period of operation for the Cardrona summer season is nominally December 14, 2024 – March 2nd, 2025. The duration of the seasons will be subject to weather & market conditions & may vary from the above dates as a result. Cardrona offers no warranty in respect of the season-opening, duration of the season, operating days &/or the number of lifts & facilities operating on any day or time.
All prices quoted on this website are in New Zealand dollars & are valid at the time of printing but subject to change without notice. Rates include GST.
For open-dated season and day passes, age is taken on the date of purchase. For all dated products, age is taken on the date of travel.
Pass means an Electronic RFID pass & the products associated with it.

Always carry your pass. If a pass holder has forgotten their pass, a replacement card can be issued at the mountain Ticket Office.
A lost or stolen pass must be reported to Cardrona immediately. A replacement pass may be issued at Cardrona's discretion.
A $10 fee will be charged for a replacement pass. This is at the discretion of Cardrona. Passes remain the property of Cardrona.
Passes are non-transferable. It may only be used by the person whose name & photograph are assigned to the pass. Fraudulent use of your pass will result in confiscation of the pass & prosecution of all parties involved.
Your pass cannot be used for commercial purposes without the consent of Cardrona.
The pass holder uses the resort at his/her own risk.
The pass holder assumes all risk of personal injury & property loss or damage.
The pass holder agrees to the rules, regulations & directions as expressed or implied by Cardrona. All pass holders at Cardrona must abide by the mountain biker’s responsibility code.
Misconduct will result in withdrawal or suspension of pass privileges. Misconduct also covers unsocial behaviour & terms expressed or implied at the resort.
Any breach of the Terms & Conditions relating to the use of the pass by the user may result in the withdrawal of the pass & all associated privileges.
Any person who uses or attempts to use the facilities at Cardrona without a valid & lawful pass & without reasonable excuse will be subject to:
Prosecution &/or
Requirement to purchase a valid lift pass for that day &/or
A penalty of $1000 &/or a trespass notice preventing further access to the resort & all other ski areas in the Southern Lakes region for a period of 2 years.
Cardrona Resorts passes are non-refundable. However, refunds will be considered in extenuating circumstances. A doctor’s certificate may be requested to support refund requests based on medical grounds. Refund applications must be in writing with supporting documentation & sent to info@cardrona-treblecone.com. The usage of the pass will determine the basis of any refund & is at the absolute discretion of Cardrona Resorts. Cardrona Resorts reserves the right to apply any processing charges for refund applications.

Refund/credit requests must not be assumed, and any requests received after this date will be at the discretion of Cardrona Resorts and Bike Glendhu.
Promotion cannot be used in conjunction with any other discount.

Cardrona$ are redeemed on the basis that 1 Cardrona$ is equivalent to 1 NZ dollar.
Cardrona$ can be used to purchase products or as part of the payment for a product for sale at Cardrona Alpine Resort only.
Cardrona$ cannot be redeemed against a prior completed purchase.
Cardrona$ can only be redeemed upon presentation of a valid pass loaded with a current Cardrona$ value (by the person named on the card).
Cardrona$ can be redeemed by the named pass holder for the purchase of products for other pass holders. e.g. parent for a child.
If there is a dispute about the balance remaining on a pass, this must be raised immediately by contacting Cardrona at +64 3 443 7341 or by emailing info@cardrona-treblecone.com. No resolution will be available to the user regarding issues raised after the end of the season (winter or summer) during which the purchases are made. Cardrona$ are non-refundable & non-transferable.
If you’ve loaded both Individual & Family Cardrona$, your individual balance will be used first.

Cardrona$ expires after 12 months of inactivity – if you haven’t spent or loaded any Cardrona$ on your pass in the last year.

Cart and bike rental are subject to the pass T&C’s as above.
Rental Damage Protection can be purchased for bike rental products to cover accidental equipment damage and breakage that occurs under normal usage conditions. This protection does not apply to damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or lost or stolen equipment. We highly recommend the purchase of rental damage protection.
All equipment must be returned at the end of your rental agreement.
If equipment is unreturned or damaged, Cardrona will make contact to discuss any issues & you may be charged for any damaged or unreturned items.
Group rates are available for parties of 8+. Bookings must be made in advance, and payment is required in one single transaction at least 7 days prior to confirmation.
Bike hire & Mountain Carting sessions are non-refundable and non-transferable. Depending on availability we may be able to amend the date of your booking, all requests must be made at least 48hrs prior.
Mountain Carting Black Friday Sale vouchers are non-refundable and must be used during the 24/ 25 summer season (December 15, 2023 – March 3rd, 2024).
Once purchased, mountain carting Black Friday sale vouchers must be booked for a date and time by calling 0800 440 800. Bookings must be made at least 48 hours before you plan to visit and can be made any time throughout the summer season from December 14, 2024 – March 2nd, 2025, except during the peak back out December 26th, 2024 – January 20th, 2025.
Carting involves inherent risks and potential hazards. The risks and hazards include but are not limited to, rolling or flipping the cart, hitting obstacles (such as tyres, structures, rocks or other riders) or being hit by other riders, falling off the cart, and equipment failure.
Participating in this activity offered by Cardrona Alpine Resort can be hazardous if it is not conducted with care, control and responsibility. I acknowledge that these risks could result in injury (physical or mental) or even death.
You must be 8 years of age or older to ride alone in a cart.
An adult must accompany children under 12 years of age on the track. (ratio of more than 3 children to 1 adult).
Children 7 years and younger (who can walk and support their own head while wearing a helmet) may ride tandem with an adult. Additional one-on-one training will be provided.
The maximum weight of the rider, or tandem, per cart, is 110kg.
If you are under the influence or are impaired from the use of alcohol or drugs (including prescription medications), you will not be permitted to go carting.
To ride a cart, you must be in good physical health and have no back or physical limitations that will affect your ability to control the cart. If you have any previous, current, or re-occurring injuries that may be affected by a bumpy ride, we strongly suggest you don’t go carting. Please ask a staff member if you’re unsure!
Carting while pregnant is not recommended.
A full-face helmet is supplied for your safety and must always be worn (with a chin strap buckled).
Wear sturdy, closed-toe footwear that must be worn by the user (no jandals or sandals).

ENTRY ACCEPTANCE OF THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
Entering the Mountain Carting Giveaway (“the Competition”) is considered to be accepting the below terms and conditions (“Terms and Conditions”).

CONTRACT LAW: All agreements and contracts shall be subject solely to New Zealand law and the exclusive jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
CHANGES TO COMPETITION: Promoter reserves the right to change these terms and conditions throughout the competition. Any change to the prize will be updated in the competition terms and conditions and on the Promoter website/s.
